The UFC returns to pay-per-view this Saturday with UFC 264, which means the popular “Embedded” fight week series is back, as well.
UFC 264 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card streams live on ESPN + pay-per-view, with prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
The main event features what might be the most anticipated fight of the year as [autotag]Dustin Poirier[/autotag] and [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag] will settle their score with a trilogy fight. It was McGregor (22-5 MMA, 10-3 UFC) who finished Poirier (27-6 MMA, 19-5 UFC) in their featherweight bout in September 2014, but Poirier knocked out McGregor in their lightweight rematch this past January at UFC 257. They’ll meet at 155 pounds in their third matchup this weekend.
The UFC 264 co-main event features a welterweight showdown with title implications as [autotag]Gilbert Burns[/autotag] (19-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC), No. 3 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie 170-pound rankings, takes on No. 4 [autotag]Stephen Thompson[/autotag] (16-4-1 MMA, 11-4-1 UFC).
The third episode of “Embedded” follows the featured competitors during fight week. Here’s the description from YouTube:
Stephen Thompson travels then games; Gilbert Burns gets PT. Dustin Poirier grows his poster collection. Tai Tuivasa targets a pool party. Sean O’Malley lands in style as Kris Moutinho prepares to debut. Jorge Masvidal joins a teammate in Vegas.
