Auburn running back Tank Bigsby and cornerback Roger McCreary have been ranked in PFF’s top 50 players in college football right now.
Auburn’s star running back came in at number 17 on the list. Bigsby took the SEC by storm last year despite the Tigers struggling on the offensive line. Bigsby suffered an injury during the game against Tennessee.
PFF’s analytics claimed that Bigsby was the fifth most valuable freshman that was not a quarterback in 2020. They also had this to say about the Auburn ball carrier.
“The 2020 four-star recruit who ranked 40th nationally, according to 247Sports, was easily among the most elusive ball carriers in college football last year. His strong contact balance was on full display as he came away with the fifth-most broken tackles per attempt (0.34) in the FBS.”
McCreary is ranked as the 49th ranked player in college football according to PFF. Auburn fans watched the talented cornerback handle opposing wide receivers with finesse and aggression in 2020.
Auburn has one of the deepest defensive backs rooms in college football and McCreary leads the way for the unit.
PFF had high praise for McCreary.
“He’s fast, fluid, has great feet and is scheme-versatile. This Auburn secondary is among the most talented in the country with McCreary leading the way, and he is more than capable of producing at an elite level in 2021 after ranking 21st among Power 5 corners in coverage grade in 2019 and 15th in 2020.”
