There were plenty of recruiting fireworks for Penn State on July 4th. One of the biggest booms of the day came in the form of a commitment from four-star edge rusher Tyreese Fearbry from Pittsburgh. Fearbry joins a Penn State Class of 2022 that continues to look impressive.
“It’s been a true blessing to be in my position,” Fearbry said in a brief statement shared on his Twitter account on Sunday. “For the next [four] years, I will be attending Penn State University!”
Fearbry, a 6’5″ 225-pound prospect, chose the Nittnay Lions over offers from Auburn, Kentucky and Pitt as he came down to making his final decision. According to the 247 Sports composite ranking, Fearbry is the nation’s No. 12 edge rusher and the No. 9 overall recruit in the state of Pennsylvania. He is a composite four-star recruit.

Penn State has now secured four of the top 10 players in the state of Pennsylvania, and the current 247 Sports crystal ball predictions are leaning in Penn State’s favor for two more (RB Nicholas Singleton and CB Keenan Nelson Jr.).
Penn State also scored another big commitment on Sunday with the addition of four-star defensive lineman Zane Durant out of Orlando, Florida. Durant committed to Penn State over the Miami Hurricanes and Indiana Hoosiers. As of Monday morning, Penn State’s Class of 2022 ranked third in the nation according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
