Sometimes in the heat of competition, our competitive juices can get the best of us. And when that happens, we do stupid things.
That was Patrick Beverley on Thursday night against the Suns.
While the Suns were in the middle of a run he lost his temper and delivered an awful cheap shot to Chris Paul, pushing him to the ground. Paul didn’t even see Beverley coming and, honestly, this could’ve ended a lot worse than it did.
Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt. Beverley also got a technical foul and was obviously ejected from the game. There’s no place for that sort of behavior anywhere — let alone in an NBA game.
Beverley knows that. And that’s why he apologized to Paul on Thursday following the game.
He knew he lost control and that he was wrong.
@CP3 emotions got the best of me last night gang. My bad wasn’t meant for you. Congrats on making it to the Finals. Best of Luck 🤞🏾

No harm, no foul. There is certainly no love lost between these two, but it’s good to see Beverley apologize for what was a pretty awful thing to do. And it’s also nice to see him doing it publicly, too.
Good on him.
