Following their exit from the Western Conference play-in tournament after back-to-back losses, the next time you can see members of the Golden State Warriors on the basketball court will be the 2021 Olympic Games.
Before the torches are lit in Tokyo, some members of the Warriors will need to qualify with their national teams before joining the summer games. Andrew Wiggins, Mychal Mulder and Team Canada will need to win a qualifying tournament before securing a spot in the Olympics.
On Tuesday, Team Canada opened up a qualifying tournament in Victoria, British Columbia, against the Greece national team.
Wiggins channeled his “Maple Mamba,” tallying a game-high 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor. The Warriors forward dropped in three triples from beyond the arc on six attempts from deep. Wiggins added six boards, two assists and a steal on the way to a win for Canada, 97-91.
