The next month for members of the Miami Dolphins is going to be one filled with whatever one’s heart desires. Down time, family, travel, you name it. And for Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, that means the perfect time to hold his ‘Luau with Tua’ fundraising event at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
Tagovailoa returned to his old stomping grounds to help raise money for a number of causes, including the Tua Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama and Nick’s Kids Foundation — a venture by Alabama coach Nick Saban and his wife Terry.
While in attendance, Tagovailoa caught up with the local media and discussed a whole slew of topics: whether or not he’s caught up with new Patriots quarterback and former teammate Mac Jones, how excited he is to have Jaylen Waddle with him in South Florida, the future of quarterback at Alabama and what it means to use his platform to help raise money.
As you’d expect from a Dolphins talent, Tagovailoa was quite diplomatic and didn’t necessarily give away any juicy soundbites; but he was candid and thoughtful about the opportunity in Tuscaloosa and his journey to becoming the starter in Miami with the Dolphins.
