The Washington Football Team has built a talented, young roster over the last seasons. But how does that roster stack up to the rest of the NFL?
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports recently ranked his top 100 players for 2021. How many members of the Washington Football Team made the cut?
Of course, NFL defensive rookie of the year Chase Young made the list, coming in at No. 40.
He had 7.5 sacks as a rookie, but really came on late in the season. Look for his sack numbers to go way up in 2021 and for him to be much higher on this list next year.
Next up for Washington was All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff at No. 69.
He’s one of the best guards in the league, a player who is good in both the run game and pass protection. It’s why Washington brought him back on the franchise tag for another year.
Prisco is correct. Both players are among the top 100 players in the NFL. But so is wide receiver Terry McLaurin. According to Prisco, McLaurin is one of the players who just missed the top 100.
How many other Washington players could contend for the top 100? Players like Montez Sweat and Jonathan Allen could make strong arguments, too.
While only two Washington players ended up making Prisco’s top 100, it’s clear the talent level has picked up, and the team is on the rise.
