The New York Yankees went to Fenway Park over the weekend and got swept yet again by the Red Sox.
It was a brutal weekend for a Yankees team that has struggled a bunch this season and is currently in third in the AL East.
On Sunday they saw their ace, Gerrit Cole, get shelled in Sunday’s 9-2 loss. Things got away from Cole from the very his first pitch of the game, which Enrique Hernandez hit into the Monster Seats in left field for a solo home run.
One Yankees fan didn’t seem to mind that home run, though. I’m talking about this guy in the video below who caught the ball while wearing a bunch of Yankees gear. Sitting in those seats has to be an awesome experience and catching a home run has to be incredible, too. It’s just a tough look when it’s one that’s hit by your rival on the very first pitch of the game:

Again, sweet catch by that guy and it looks like he was there with his son, which is something they will never forget. That’s great. Making memories at the ballpark is one of the greatest things in life. I’m happy for the guy.
But Twitter did rightfully find it funny that the Yankees fan was so happy:
