Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is teaming up with Adidas to release an exclusive shoe.
The Lakers-inspired shoe embraces the design of the Forum Low, a staple in Adidas’ shoe creations. The classic purple and gold come together for the body of the shoe while white consumes the entire sole.
It includes three white-and-purple colored stripes and No. 33, which is the jersey the Lakers retired in honor of Abdul-Jabbar’s time with the team.
However, only 33 pairs will be available when the shoe releases on June 26. Each pair will cost $1,000, and it will be available at Sneaker Con through NTWRK.
All proceeds will go to Abdul-Jabbar’s Skyhook Foundation, which aims to help the youth and underserved communities in Los Angeles and beyond.
Abdul-Jabbar spent 14 seasons with the Lakers after leaving the Milwaukee Bucks. He made the All-Star team for 13 of those seasons and won five championships with Los Angeles.
