Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd is again embracing the underdog role going into the 2021 season.
Boyd, fresh off his team’s fun media day romp with the new jerseys, used some of the footage to share a message on Instagram:
“I love being the underdog so they don’t expect what’s going to happen. Not gettin the respect I deserve does nothin but drill my will to work harder and do things I’m not doin better.”
Boyd functioned as the No. 1 wideout in Cincinnati over the last few seasons but has greatly fallen behind Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase in terms of hype this offseason.
And from the sounds of it, Boyd wouldn’t have it any other way going into next year. As one of the NFL’s better slot receivers, he’s primed for another big season while defenses worry about the hyped guys around him.
