Joey Votto has a history of trolling opposing fans and others in the stands, but this is a different and heart-warming story.
A young Cincinnati Reds fan, 6-year-old Abigail, came to her first baseball game on Saturday to watch Votto, her favorite player.
But Votto had one at-bat in the first inning that ended with him furiously jawing at the home plate umpire and getting ejected.
Abigail was so sad, and her mom tweeted at the Reds to show a photo proving the fact. The team reached out to get Votto to make it up to her with a signed ball, and her reaction was the best:
@Reds When it’s your first MLB game and your favorite player of all time gets thrown out of the game in the first inning…. 😥😥😥 #weloveyoujoey pic.twitter.com/h7lganVo3s
