The Baltimore Ravens hosted two days of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday and Wednesday. Many players were present for both days as they ran through drills, went through some 11-on-11’s, and worked to get back into football shape.
Despite most of Baltimore’s team being there, one player who wasn’t available on Wednesday was rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman. Head coach John Harbaugh classified the reason that Bateman was absent as a “stomach virus”.

Bateman has missed multiple workouts over the course of his first few weeks in the NFL. He was on the sideline for part of voluntary organized team activities with muscle soreness after not having much time off between the college football season, pre-draft workouts, and the start of his NFL offseason program.
Just because Bateman has missed a few practices with various ailments doesn’t mean he’s “injury prone”. The team is deciding to rest him and not risk re-injury, and with a stomach virus, there was little chance that the wide receiver would have been able to have a productive day. As the offseason continues, Bateman should be able to be on the field a lot more as he continues to adjust to the NFL game.
