Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson ‘still friends’ after offseason trade speculation

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson popped into coach Pete Carroll’s press conference to let everyone know the two are still friends.

All is well at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, home of the Seattle Seahawks.

During Pete Carroll’s press conference after the first day of the team’s mandatory minicamp, quarterback Russell Wilson briefly interrupted the questioning to make sure everyone knew that he and his coach were still on good terms.

Throughout the offseason, there had been much speculation about whether or not Wilson would be traded to another club after he aired his displeasure with the offensive line play from last year.

Last week, Wilson vehemently denied specifically asking for a trade, stating his intent to spend his career in the Emerald City.

“Just letting everybody know we’re still friends, you know,” Wilson said with a smile. “Just messing with y’all”
