Watch: Titans’ Ryan Tannehill was mic’d up for Julio Jones’ practice debut

Ryan Tannehill can be heard trolling Brett Kern a bit in the clip.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill was in attendance for the latter part of Phase 3 of OTAs and was mic’d up during the practice debut of wide receiver Julio Jones.

Tannehill can be heard trolling punter Brett Kern a bit, and we get to see him connect on passes with Jones, wide receiver Marcus Johnson and tight end Tommy Hudson, who made a nice one-handed grab.

This was one of the first steps in Tannehill and Jones building chemistry. The pair will continue to work on it the rest of the offseason, with the next opportunity coming at mandatory minicamp on June 15.

Jones spoke about the process of both players getting on the same page after the session, saying he believes it won’t take long to develop chemistry with Tannehill.

“It’s just talking, communication.” Jones said. “I don’t think it’s going to take no time at all. He’s a veteran player, I’m a veteran player. We’ve just got to go out there and it’s just repetition at the end of the day, really. Just going out there and, you know, “This is where I want it at, can you put it here?” And, where he wants me at, can I get there?

“It’s just us working together. At the end of the day, as long as we’re on the same page, we’re going to be successful.”

Jones isn’t the only receiver Tannehill needs to familiarize himself with, as the Texas A&M product has two more new targets in free-agent acquisition Josh Reynolds and 2021 fourth-round pick Dez Fitzpatrick.
