With the recent addition of veteran cornerback Darqueze Dennard, it would appear the Arizona Cardinals have shored up that position. However, one position of concern remains as the team wraps up its offseason and takes its break until training camp.
The tight end position could be better, and the team knows it.
It is a position they could address in the break between now and training camp at the end of July.
“I think that’s a position we’re going to continue to evaluate and kind of see who’s out there,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said last week during OTAs. “Maxx (Williams) and Darrell (Daniels) have played a lot of meaningful snaps for us, and then we have some young guys we want to develop, but I think throughout the summer we’ll definitely try to add some depth there at some point.”
Williams is healthy after struggling with an ankle injury all last year and is talented.
Daniels played a career-high 365 offensive snaps last season.
After that, the only player with any NFL snaps is Ross Travis.
They recently brought in Jake Butt for a workout and they have been connected to Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz as well.
In the weeks to come and probably as we get closer to camp, it is a position to watch, for sure.
