Bruce Brown had just gotten burned on the defensive end by Jrue Holiday in Game 3 of the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets clash in the Eastern semifinals.
With 11.4 seconds left, the Bucks were up by one and they needed a win, or they’d face a 3-0 series deficit.
Amid the chaos of a loose ball on the other end, Brown ended up with the rock in his hands. And instead of finding, say, Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving to take the shot as the clock ticked down, Brown drove to the hole against the taller Brook Lopez and threw up a wild shot attempt that didn’t go in.
Let’s be fair for a sec: Brown has had a terrific season off the bench for the Nets.
But in that scenario? He should have passed it off. And NBA fans piled on him on Twitter.
