[autotag]Claressa Shields[/autotag] has successfully debuted in MMA.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist boxer and WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO champion had her first professional MMA bout on Thursday night in the main event of the 2021 PFL 4 card in Atlantic City, N.J. Shields (1-0) stopped Brittney Elkin (3-7) via TKO in the third round of their lightweight contest.
Shields struggled early, as she faced adversity on the ground in the first two rounds, but was able to rally back late, put Elkin in a tough position, and finish her with ground-and-pound.
