Reports: Anthony Pettis withdraws from PFL 4 due to illness; shakeup in lightweight matchups

Anthony Pettis is no longer competing Thursday, but he’ll still get a chance to fight after a shakeup at lightweight.

Thursday’s PFL card has taken a big hit.

2021 PFL 4 will be without former UFC lightweight champion [autotag]Anthony Pettis[/autotag], who has withdrawn from his bout against Alexander Martinez due to illness, according to multiple reports. Ag. Fight broke the news.

Pettis (24-11) was scheduled to headline the card against Martinez (8-0) as part of the second and final bout to earn points to qualify for the lightweight tournament.

With Pettis no longer on the card, 2019 PFL lightweight champion Natan Schulte (24-4-1) will step up and serve as the main event against Martinez in Atlantic City, N.J. Raush Manfio (12-3), who was set to take on Schulte on late notice, now meets Pettis on June 25 at PFL 6.
