Notre Dame’s super-regional opponent set

Should the Irish be playing at home this weekend?

If Notre Dame is going to earn a spot in the College World Series they’ll have to knock off a higher seed on the road.

The No. 10 Irish will travel to Starkville, Mississippi to take on No. 7 Mississippi State in the best-of-three super regional series that begins on Saturday.

Mississippi State beat Campbell 6-5 on Monday to clinch a regional which like Notre Dame, they swept in three-straight games on their home field.

Instead of playing super regional on their home field like they thought they may be, Notre Dame will be headed to Dudy Noble Field. Mississippi State’s on-campus venue holds the record for hosting the most-attended college baseball game on campus as the Bulldogs once hosted 15,586 fans for a game.
