The Baltimore Ravens had been linked to wide receiver Julio Jones for weeks, hearing their name attached to his name in multiple reports and rumors. The star wideout and the Atlanta Falcons appeared to be heading for a split, and on Sunday it was revealed that Jones will be heading to a new team. However, that team isn’t Baltimore.
Jones will be on his way to the Tennessee Titans, who gave up a decent amount of draft capital to get him.
Sources: The #Falcons are trading All-Pro WR Julio Jones to the #Titans in exchange for at least a 2nd round pick. A blockbuster for Tennessee, who now gets the coveted big-play threat. And Atlanta ends up with very nice value.

While it’s no first round pick, Atlanta got some good draft assets for a player who clearly expressed that he wanted out of his situation. Many have questioned why the Ravens didn’t pull the trigger on a deal for a future Hall of Famer that wouldn’t have required a massive haul of draft picks, but at the end of the day, it seems like either Jones’ contract, injury history, the compensation of the deal, or how much Baltimore has already invested at the wide receiver position made the Ravens weary of acquiring Jones.
