Former Vols in the NBA: May 31 recap

How former Vols fared in the NBA Monday night.

One former University of Tennessee basketball player was in action during the NBA Playoffs Monday night. His team missed its first chance to close out its Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Top-seeded Philadelphia missed their opportunity to sweep the Wizards at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

No. 8 seed Washington overcame a narrow halftime deficit and withstood a late surge from Philadelphia to capture a, 122-114, victory.

The 76ers have a 3-1 lead in the series, which resumes Wednesday at 7 p.m. EDT at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

In Monday’s game, former Volunteer Tobias Harris posted a double-double as he scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Harris also had five assists and one block in the contest against the Wizards. He started and played 27 minutes.

The former Vol endured some shooting struggles as he went 8-for-24 from the field and 1-for-5 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Harris was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
