Incoming Ohio State basketball freshman Malakai Branham has been named to the 2021 Jordan Brand Classic roster. He is one of 30 players announced as a part of the team this weekend. The game is usually played in April, but will not take place this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“While no game will be played in 2021, Jordan Brand still recognizes the high school athletes who have remained dedicated to the game and deserve recognition for their talent,” Jordan Brand Classic organizers said in a statement.
At 6-foot, 4-inches, and 175-pounds, Branham took home the Ohio Mr. Basketball Award this past season, and led his Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary squad to the Ohio state title. He averaged 21.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game during his senior campaign.
