DeAndre Hopkins, Julio Jones apparently talked about being teammates

Another post by Hopkins on social media heats up discussion about the Cardinals acquiring star wideout Julio Jones.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins made waves on social media, letting everyone know that he would work with his contract to make it possible for Atlanta Falcons star receiver to join him in Arizona.

He was at it again on social media, suggesting he and Jones have had a conversation about being teammates before.

This is the Instagram post he shared:

In the photo are Hopkins, Jones and A.J. Green, who is now on the Cardinals after signing a one-year contract in free agency. Hopkins’ captions is, “Julio u remember what we talked about.”

It would appear that when they were together in the Pro Bowl, there was at least one conversation about how it would be if they were on the same team.

The last time Hopkins took to social media in an effort to recruit a player, it was for former teammate J.J. Watt after he was released by the Houston Texans.

Watt signed with the Cardinals.

Arizona would have to trade for Jones, but it is certainly possible and it would give them arguably the best trio of receivers the league has ever seen.

Jones has publicly said he wants out of Atlanta and that he wants to win.

The Cardinals’ moves this offseason suggest they are in a win-now mode, trying to get a championship before quarterback Kyler Murray gets a huge contract extension.

There are a lot of moving parts and questions as to whether a trio like that would even work, but multiple posts like this by Hopkins suggests there is at least a little something to it.
