The Philadelphia 76ers have recently finished up a strong 49-23 season where they finished as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for the first time since 2001. The Sixers are set to begin the playoffs on Sunday now, but it’s also the time to honor the team’s star duo for their efforts.
Joel Embiid has been absolutely incredible all season averaging 28.5 points and 10.6 rebounds while throwing the Sixers on his back in plenty of games. That is the type of stat line that gets a lot of love to win the prestigious MVP award.
He, along with Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry, are the finalists for the 2021 MVP award.

As for Ben Simmons, he has been one of the top defenders in the league. He has constantly taken on the opposition’s best scorer on a regular basis and on Thursday, he was announced as a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year along with Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green.

The Sixers have bigger things in mind when it comes to their final goal, but it would be nice for them to have Embiid and Simmons recognized for their individual play.
