Houma, La. native Gavin Dugas was named SEC Co-Player of the Week. The star junior leftfielder shares this honor with South Carolina outfielder Andrew Eyster.

Dugas showcased stellar performances in all of the Tiger’s four games last week. He helped lead his team to three wins, including an SEC series victory over Alabama on Sunday where he hit .364 with one double, two homers, three RBI, four runs, one stolen base and a .429 on-base percentage.

In four games Dugas batted .429 with one double, two homers, eight RBI, five runs scored and a .526 on-base percentage. He currently leads the SEC in RBI with 57, while also batting .301 this season with 12 doubles, one triple, 14 homers and 44 runs.

LSU is set to play Northwestern State Tuesday, May 18th at 6:30 P.M. CT in Alex Box Stadium if the weather permits.

The week has been off to a fiery start for the Bayou baseball boys. Let’s hope they can keep the momentum in their final regular-season matchup, and that Dugas continues to help lead the pack towards victory.

We all know too well that the Tigers are either on or they’re off — they just need to stay the course and ride out this winning streak. They have all the tools they need to be successful in what will be their final postseason push.

Time to show out.
