On Sunday, Anthony Edwards wrapped up his rookie campaign by leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 136-121 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on the final day of the regular season.
Edwards produced a team-high 30 points, four assists and one blocked shot in 38 minutes of work. He finished converting 10-of-21 shot attempts from the field, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range for his eighth game with at least five 3s.
The performance marked his fourth 30-point game of the season, which tied Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins for the most by a rookie in team history. His five 3-pointers gave him 171 on the season, the fourth-most by a rookie in NBA history.

On top of his offensive production, Edwards proved highly durable throughout the season.
Edwards was one of only 11 players in the league to appear in all 72 games this season, and the only rookie to accomplish the feat. Rookies Patrick Williams (71), Jae’Sean Tate (70) and Saddiq Bey (70) played in at least 70 games.

Edwards finished his rookie season by averaging 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 assists. His 19.3 points per game are the most in Timberwolves history by a rookie and his 171 3-pointers are the second-most by a player in team history, behind only Kevin Love with 190.
The No. 1 pick turned in an incredible run to close his first year in the NBA and solidified himself in the Rookie of the Year conversation. His late-season surge certainly gave the awards voters something to think about in that category.
