Jimmy Morrissey

On Monday, the Raiders got the ball rolling on locking in their rookie class. They started at the bottom signing their final draft pick, a seventh-round pick in center Jimmy Morrissey.

The 230th overall pick out of Pittsburgh, Morrissey was a four-year starter for the Panthers. The former walk-on won the center job as a redshirt freshman in 2017 and never looked back. He finished his career at Pitt with 47 starts over four seasons.

By 2019, he had been named first-team All-ACC, a feat he reached both of his final two seasons of college ball. A two-year run in which he gave up just two total sacks.

Morrissey did all this while being a four-time member All-ACC Academic team.

With the Raiders trading away Pro Bowl center Rodney Hudson. the position could be wide open. Former undrafted Andre James returns with a leg up on the job, but he will have to compete with incoming free agent Nick Martin and Morrissey.
