Injury Report: Warriors’ Kelly Oubre Jr. (wrist) to be re-evaluated again in 7-10 days

After missing the run before the play-in tournament, Kelly Oubre Jr.’s wrist injury is slated to be re-evaluated in another 7-10 days.

Despite winning seven of their last eight contests, the Golden State Warriors have been without Kelly Oubre Jr. due to a wrist injury. After taking a rough fall against the Washington Wizards on April 9, Oubre Jr. has missed 14 games.

Prior to Golden State’s tilt with the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday to decide the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference play-in game, the team provided an update for Oubre Jr.’s injury.

According to the Warriors, Oubre Jr.’s small avulsion and ligament tear in his left wrist will be re-evaluated again in 7-10 days. Despite appropriate healing, Oubre Jr. has not been cleared to practice yet.

Barring a sudden return, Oubre Jr.’s latest injury update will likely rule the wing out of the play-in tournament. The first games of the play-in tournament are slated to begin on Tuesday. If the Warriors can ink a spot in the Western Conference postseason, there’s still a chance Oubre Jr. could potentially re-join the rotation in the first round. The next update regarding Oubre Jr. could have a significant impact on Golden State’s postseason future.

Without Oubre Jr., Kent Bazemore has earned a spot in the starting lineup, averaging 11.1 points on 46.2% shooting from the field with 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest in his last 16 games.
