He wasn’t in Ann Arbor for long, but now he’s headed out east.

Last fall, the grad transfer dominoes appeared to start falling when Michigan football secured the commitment of former LSU tackle-turned-Louisiana Tech starter Willie Allen, who had to wait months before he could actually get on campus and start getting ingratiated into the system. However, once he arrived, he didn’t last.

Allen partook in spring ball, but seemingly never earned that yearned for starting role. With Andrew Stueber securing the right tackle position where Allen was slotted, he announced that he would be entering the NCAA transfer portal and look for a starting opportunity elswhere.

On Saturday, it was revealed that Allen is heading to UMass where he’ll finish his career.

Allen may have only wore a winged helmet in practice, but at UMass he’ll get the opportunity he wasn’t able to secure in Ann Arbor.
