The Houston Texans have most of their five-man draft class already signed ahead of rookie minicamp.
The club announced they have signed third-round receiver Nico Collins, fifth-round tight end Brevin Jordan, and sixth-round defensive tackle Roy Lopez.
The only two draft picks who remain unsigned are third-round quarterback Davis Mills and fifth-round linebacker Garret Wallow.
General manager Nick Caserio hopes the rookies, signed or unsigned, start to lay a good foundation at rookie minicamp.
“The expectation is just let’s have a good Friday,” Caserio told reporters at the Texans’ charity golf classic Monday. “Let’s go out there, let’s have a good whatever we’re going to do on the field, which I would say is probably not going to be that much because we’ve got a long way to go. The big thing is giving them a foundation about our program and then ultimately just getting ready for training camp because that’s really the next true test of what we’re actually going to see relative to football.”
