Even for a region that has produced multiple United States presidents you’d be hard-pressed to find a more known name in the southeast than Manning.
Archie of course quarterbacked Ole Miss and his two sons Peyton and Eli went on to hall of fame-worthy professional careers after spending their college years at Tennessee and Ole Miss, respectively.
OK, all things on the table I don’t think Eli was quite a hall of fame player but that’s another discussion for another day.
The other Manning brother, Cooper, now has a son that is one of the top quarterback recruits in the 2023 recruiting class and he’s starting to set up his visits for this summer.
It’s hard to imagine that a Manning, in this case, young Arch, wouldn’t attend an SEC football program but stranger things have happened and it appears Notre Dame is at least still a possibility to land his talents.
Cooper Manning recently told 247Sports that his son Arch:
“Arch has been talking to Stanford, he’s especially interested in doing a Stanford, USC swing and also a Notre Dame, Ohio State swing. It might be hard to get it all done in June but he’s been enjoying talking to those guys as well. – Arch Manning
So what we know is that Notre Dame hasn’t been eliminated from the sweepstakes, but certainly has it’s work cut out as all of the powerhouses are after him as you’d probably imagine.
Still, it’s worth at least noting and getting a little bit excited that Notre Dame has a seat at the Manning family table.
At least for now.
