The Los Angeles Rams went 10 years with one man serving as their long snapper, but Jake McQuaide’s departure in free agency has left the team with no choice but to turn over every stone in search of his replacement. On Tuesday, the Rams claimed former Jaguars long snapper Matthew Orzech off waivers from Tennessee.
Orzech spent most of last season on the practice squads of the Dolphins and Titans, though he never appeared in a game. In 2019, he played 136 special teams snaps for the Jaguars in 16 games.
Orzech joins Colin Holba and Steven Wirtel as the three long snappers on the Rams’ roster currently, with all of them set to compete for the job this summer.
