The LSU quarterback competition is a close one between Max Johnson, Myles Brennan and Garrett Nussmeier.

The first player on that list received first-team reps from the start of the spring after finishing the season as the team’s starter with a 2-0 record, helping the team record an upset victory over Florida and a home win over Ole Miss.

There’s plenty of speculation that Johnson will enter the 2021 season as LSU’s starting quarterback, and he comes from a great background. After all, it does help to have a former NFL quarterback like Brad Johnson as your father when you aspire to be a top signal-caller like Max Johnson does.

The two recently participated in a father-son challenge, each showcasing a high level of accuracy.

In the last two games of the season, Johnson completed 48-of-87 passes for 674 yards with six touchdowns and just one interception.

It will be interesting to watch him continue to grow into his role when LSU gets back to the football field this fall.
