UT signee Angus Pence and commitment Brennon Seigler lead Admirals past Bulldogs in district tournament

A pair of future University of Tennessee baseball players helped their high school team remain in the winners bracket of the District 4-AAA Baseball Tournament Saturday.

Farragut High School senior shortstop and Tennessee signee Angus Pence went 1-for-3 and scored a run in the top-seeded Admirals’ 3-2 victory over Bearden. The contest was played at John Heatherly Field at the Ballpark in Farragut.

Freshman center fielder and Vols’ commitment Brennon Seigler also drove in a run for Farragut (30-4), the 2019 and defending Class AAA state champion.

The Bulldogs’ UT commitment, freshman Brooks Wright was 0-3 with two strikeouts in the game.

With the loss, Bearden (19-12) drops into the losers bracket with both teams scheduled to return to action Monday.

The Bulldogs will face Heritage in an elimination game at 4:30 p.m. EDT, while the Admirals will play Hardin Valley Academy at 7 p.m. EDT. Both games will play at Farragut.
