If you’re either a Michigan football or a New England Patriots fan — or just a fan of Tom Brady — then the perfect piece of memorabilia is about to hit the open market.

Though famously an afterthought as the former Wolverines quarterback hit the NFL, Brady’s legacy had to start somewhere. And naturally, all it took to start getting him going was tossing his first touchdown a few games into his career. And the ball he threw is up for grabs once again, as the Patriots fan who’s had it in his possession has put it up for auction.

The football that Tom Brady threw to complete his first touchdown pass in the NFL is going up for auction with Lelands on Sunday.

It’s a unique piece of sports history that has been with the seller, who wishes to remain anonymous, since the game on Oct. 14, 2001, when the New England Patriots played the San Diego Chargers.

The seller grew up in Rhode Island and has gone to Patriots games since the late 1970s with his family. He and three of his high school friends first bought season tickets in 1992 as college students and have kept the tickets to this day.

What makes Brady’s first touchdown throw that much more interesting is that he threw it to the late Terry Glenn — a former Ohio State Buckeyes standout wide receiver.
