The Ravens have addressed their offensive tackle hole.
The team has agreed to a two-year deal with free agent offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Villanueva, 32, previously had a free-agent visit with the Ravens on April 19. That came just a few days before Orlando Brown Jr. was finally traded five days later to the Chiefs, a deal which landed the Ravens a first-round pick.
At the 2021 NFL draft, the Ravens chose not to use either of their two first-round picks on a potential Brown replacement. In Round 3, Georgia’s Ben Cleveland was selected, however, he’s a guard, not tackle.
Villanueva comes to Baltimore as no stranger to the Ravens. He spent the past six seasons lining up in the AFC North for the Steelers.
Villanueva, who’s been healthy for the entirety of his career, was graded very highly from Pro Football Focus in 2020. Overall, the football analytics outlet gave Villanueva a 74.6 mark. That number was good for their 28th best tackle in the league last year.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Villanueva’s deal is worth $14 million with $8M fully guaranteed.
