It’s been two weeks since NBA Twitter lost its minds over what could be a catfishing fiasco involving a Los Angeles Lakers fan and podcaster named Vivian Flores, who went missing … but who might be made up? (Our Mike Sykes had a really good explainer that breaks it all down.)
Since then, the Lakers — who could be heading toward the play-in games, which would make LeBron James unhappy — have struggled, winning just one game (over the Orlando Magic) in their past seven games.
Is there a Vivian Flores Curse? That’s what fans seem to be saying on Twitter. Here’s a roundup:
The Lakers are 1-6 since Vivian went missing.

Lakers in must-win territory and have lost 6 of 7. I blame Vivian.

Were the Lakers catfishing us by playing well early on or are they catfishing us by playing crap right now… What side of the Vivian coin are we on?!!? pic.twitter.com/PJUH8rj9xF

Curse or not, this isn’t great.
