The 2021 Kentucky Derby is officially in the books, as are the final payouts for the $1 superfecta bet.
On Saturday, Medina Spirit took home the title after finishing a thrilling race, giving another win to racehorse trainer Bob Baffert, his seventh at the Kentucky Derby. It was a close race, but Medina Spirit wasn’t really pushed much until the final turn and was leading the entire time.
In order to win the $1 superfecta bet, you would have had to get Medina Spirit, Mandaloun, Hot Rod Charlie, and Essential Quality placed in order from first place to fourth. And if you did? A $9,456.40 payout could be yours!
Official:
Medina Spirit – $26.20 win; $12 place; $7.60 show
Mandaloun – $23 place; $13.40 show
Hot Rod Charlie – $5.20 show
$2 exacta (8-7): $503.60
$1 trifecta (8-7-9): $1,696.90
$1 superfecta (8-7-9-14): $9,456.40— Play_IA (@Play_Iowa) May 1, 2021
That near $10,000 payout isn’t nearly as lucrative as payouts for the superfecta have been in the past, but it’s not an insignificant amount either!
Not a bad bet, if you made it!
