Cavaliers’ Kevin Love made a bizarre batted inbound attempt and Twitter went in on him

What is going on here, Kevin Love?

Kevin Love made a very strange, low-effort decision on Monday and Twitter is roasting him for it. During the third quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers game against the Toronto Raptors, Love received a throw in ball from the referee, and instead of picking it up and attempting the inbound, he batted the ball into play, making it a live ball.

Even worse was the fact that Toronto was able to scoop up the ball unimpeded and load up for an uncontested easy three-pointer.

The play all begins with the nonchalant effort of Love on the throw in attempt, which is incredibly bizarre as he just… doesn’t even react to the ball being in play.

It’d be easy to say it was a mistake on the throw in by Love here had he made any attempt to recover the ball once it went into play, but there was none at all.

Twitter, of course, was all over Love as soon as soon as the play happened, going in hard on the 32-year-old power forward.

We’ll see if Love has any postgame comments on the matter but yeah, that was definitely not the way to express his frustrations with the team. The Raptors beat the Cavaliers 112-96 on Monday, dropping Cleveland to 21-40 on the year.
