Comparing Casey Thompson and Hudson Card’s performance in the spring game

Longhorns Wire compares how Casey Thompson and Hudson Card performed in the annual Orange-White game.

The eyes of Texas were squarely upon Casey Thompson and Hudson Card on Saturday. The Texas Longhorns annual Orange and White game gave fans a glimpse at the player’s progressions and the new Steve Sarkisian regime.

Even though there are other important starting spots in question, the quarterback battle has been the premier topic of discussion for this offseason.

It was interesting to note that Casey Thompson felt like the early favorite to win the job by the staff after he was given the nod to play with the first-team offense.  Thompson had the best set of weapons in running back Bijan Robinson and receivers Jordan Whittington and Joshua Moore.

That didn’t seem to bother Hudson Card as he displayed accuracy, timing and just looked like he was better than the competition he was pitted against.

On the next page, Longhorns Wire breaks down what they did well, what they need to work on and how they stacked up against each other.
