Shohei Ohtani delights fans after sprinting out a home run for the Angels

Shohei Ohtani gives his all during every play, and this home run against the Houston Astros was no exception. During the Los Angeles Angels game on Saturday, Ohtani took rookie pitcher Kent Emanuel yard for his sixth home run of the season and he didn’t stop to take in the sights.

Instead, Ohtani hustled along the bases — possibly believing the ball he hit to center wasn’t headed out of the park — and only slowed down after rounding third when it was clear the ball was gone.

It’s a hustle play that we absolutely respect here, as why not get some cardio in as the designated hitter of the day?

Ohtani does, from time to time, stop and admire his own handiwork at the plate, as he did after this monstrous 451-foot home run he clobbered earlier in the season. Still, the moment was a delightfully fun one for fans, especially since the Angels ended up being crushed by the Astros 16-2 by game’s end.

And yet, Ohtani’s day wasn’t done! The pitcher and designated hitter is actually a triple threat, as he was slotted in to play left field for a time, taking his first ever plays in the field in his MLB career.
