LSU is hiring Mississippi State recruiting specialist Mason Smith, according to his Twitter announcement this week.
Smith graduated from LSU and has had a good deal of success over the past two years in which Joe Moorhead and Mike Leach have served as the head coach of the Bulldogs.
Some names Smith has helped bring on include four-star wide receiver Theodore Knox, four-star quarterback Sawyer Robertson and other notable signees in the 2021 recruiting class.
He also has had success in the transfer portal, factoring in the additions of former Stanford quarterback KJ Costello, Alabama wide receiver Tyrell Shavers and the No. 1 JUCO linebacker in the nation, Tyrus Wheat.
It will be exciting to see what he can accomplish at LSU alongside general manager Austin Thomas, coordinator of football recruiting Olivia Ohlsen and a host of others.
I appreciate Mississippi State for giving me an opportunity in this industry. I’ve developed lifetime relationships with some great people. But I am excited to say I’ve accepted a job at LSU. Let’s get this going @LSUFootballGM
