Kliff Kingsbury talks to Larry Fitzgerald, but not about what you think

They have not spoken about Fitzgerald’s future. They talk about the Suns, golf and money.

Arizona Cardinals fans have been waiting all offseason to hear the decision from receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Will he return for another season or will he retire?

We still don’t have an answer and don’t get any insight from those who have contact with him.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury spoke to reporters on Thursday and said he does talk with Fitz. However, it isn’t anything about football.

“My communication with Larry has literally consisted of golf, investments or Phoenix Suns basketball,” he said.

Fitzgerald is an avid golfer and owns a stake in the Suns.

The message about Fitzgerald’s future continues to be one of patience. If the Cardinals know, they aren’t saying.

“Like we mentioned before, Larry is going to decide this on his time, and he’s one of the greatest players of all time, so obviously he deserves to have that time,” Kingsbury said.

The Cardinals are operating like he isn’t coming back but will welcome him back if he decides to return.

But as it has been noted in previous posts, the lack of an announcement is mostly an announcement. At this point, it would be a complete shock if he were to come back and play another season.
