The Indianapolis Colts are showing interest in Appalachian State cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles ahead of the 2021 NFL draft, per Justin Melo of The Draft Network.

Projected to be a Day 3 pick, the Colts are just one of many teams keeping tabs on the redshirt senior. At 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds, Jean-Charles is likely headed for a career in the slot, especially with 30 7/8-inch arms.

Jean-Charles didn’t test all that well, registering a 4.27 RAS. However, he was a team captain with App State in 2020 and we know how important that is to Chris Ballard when it comes to incoming rookies.

The Colts re-signed both Xavier Rhodes and T.J. Carrie to one-year deals. Rhodes and Kenny Moore will continue to be the starters while the Colts figure out what kind of future they have in former second-round pick Rock Ya-Sin. Indy also gets Marvell Tell returning from opting out of the 2020 season.

The Colts currently have four picks on Day 3 of the draft so this could be something to watch when the final rounds come along on May 1.
