Trey Lance is a bit of a mystery due to the fact that he only has one year of FCS tape, and it’s now a year old. He played (unevenly) in only one game this past season, so most casual fans haven’t seen him play.
One thing is for sure, though: He’s supremely talented.
He’s also quite dynamic. Lance is a quarterback prospect that has a bit of something for everybody. If you’re an old-school fan that values more “traditional” aspects of pro football like drop-back passing and running an offense that features under-center looks, Lance has shown he can do that. If you’re a younger fan who values the ability to create on the ground while tapping into elite arm strength, Lance is going to be exciting as well.
The totality of Lance’s game is what makes him a potential top-five pick in upcoming NFL Draft. He’s not a perfect prospect, but for NFL teams thinking about taking a big swing on a quarterback, Lance checks a lot of boxes.
