A pair of Spartans are expected to get selected in next week’s NFL Draft, according to The Draft Wire of USA TODAY.

The Draft Wire released their top 300 prospects for the upcoming NFL Draft — which begins on April 29 — and two former Michigan State Spartans were placed in this ranking. Cornerback Shakur Brown and defensive lineman Naquan Jones are the two lone Spartans in this top 300 list.

Brown is the higher of the two prospects, listed at No. 212 — which is considered a 6th round grade. Jones is not too far behind at No. 222 — which is also a 6th round grade.

The only other former Spartan I thought that would make this list was Antjuan Simmons so I’m surprised to see him left off the rankings. If Simmons were to go undrafted, he would surely be picked up as a free agent by one of the 32 NFL teams.
