Make it two now from Nazareth Academy in Illinois.

Once the home of now-Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy — before he transferred to IMG Academy — it has long been a question of if Michigan football could pull yet another player from the Illinois high school. The big target there in the 2022 recruiting cycle has been Tyler Morris, a four-star wide receiver ranked No. 78 overall, regardless of position, according to 247Sports.

With Xavier Worthy having asked to be released from his 2021 NLI, it’s become that much more crucial that Michigan football brings in elite receivers in 2022. And it looks to have done that on Tuesday, with Morris having announced his verbal pledge to the Wolverines.

With Morris in the fold, he’s Michigan football’s seventh commit in 2022 and the second wide receiver along with Tay’Shawn Trent.

Josh Gattis was his primary recruiter and he becomes Michigan’s second-highest-rated recruit in 2022 below just five-star Will Johnson.
