As the Philadelphia 76ers prepare for the Golden State Warriors on Monday, they will head into the game shorthanded as they will not have star guard Ben Simmons nor will they have Tobias Harris on the floor for the second straight game.
Harris is dealing with right knee soreness that forced him to sit back on April 10 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. He then was held out down the stretch against the Brooklyn Nets on April 14 which then caused him to miss Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The injury is something that is clearly bothering the star forward and coach Doc Rivers and the Sixers just want to remain cautious with him. The coach did add that he is getting better with his recovery.
“It’s not load maintenance and we’re not concerned either,” said Rivers. “It’ll get better, it’s getting better, we’re just very cautious, especially with him. I’m not concerned. It’s not load management. It’s definitely the knee and we just gotta let it get right.”
The Sixers have their eyes set on making sure they have their full assortment of players for the playoffs on May 22. They are sitting at the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and they have a very good shot at going to the NBA Finals this season so making sure Harris is completely right going into the playoffs is the priority.
