George Hill to finally make Sixers debut vs. Warriors, Ben Simmons out

George Hill will finally make his Philadelphia 76ers debut against the Golden State Warriors while Ben Simmons is out.

The Philadelphia 76ers continue their march towards the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference on Monday when they take on the Golden State Warriors at home and there is some good news and some bad news heading into this one.

The good news is that George Hill is finally set to make his Sixers debut on Monday after being acquired in a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder back on March 25. This will be Hill’s first game since Jan. 24 before he underwent a procedure on his thumb.

“I love him with our team,” said coach Doc Rivers. “I’m not excited yet. I just think it’s gonna take him some time. We’re not going to play him a lot of minutes in a row right now. We’re just going to try to ease him back in and in another week or so, if nothing happens, obviously, then I think we will be excited. We can see what we can do.”

The bad news is that the team will be missing Ben Simmons who will miss the game with a non-COVID illness. The Sixers will now have to contend with an explosive Warriors team without the help of their best perimeter defender, but this does open the door for extended time for Hill in his debut.

The Sixers and the Warriors will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. EDT from the Wells Fargo Center.
