The Texas Longhorns baseball team (30-8) did what the men’s basketball team was unable to do: beat Abilene Christian. Not only did the Longhorns sweep the series, but games one and two were a combined 29-1 one-sided thrashing. With the series sweep, Texas keeps their winning streak alive at 13 games in a row.
The only close game in the series was game two in which both teams had a combined 14 strikeouts and Texas didn’t score a run until the bottom of the sixth inning.
Games one and three were offensive outings for Texas with three home runs hit between them, as well as four different innings in which the Longhorns scored three or more runs.
Texas will next play a re-match against the Texas State Bobcats on Tuesday, who the Longhorns beat earlier in the season by a score of 10-3. For now, let’s recap how the series against Abilene Christian played out on the next page.
